We are currently looking for a Medical Coder –ED/HM/ Anesthesia Coding to join our team. Medical Coder –ED/HM/ Anesthesia Coding
Work Week:
Monday to Friday
Shift Window:
3:00 PM to 12:00 AM IST (Straddle Shift)
Other Features:
US calendar applicable
Responsibilities:
- Abstracting from typed and/or handwritten medical records.
- Selecting E/M Level (if applicable).
- Selecting diagnostic and procedure codes to highest level of specificity.
- Sending compliant queries to physicians for clarification of information in the medical record.
Qualifications/Criteria:
- Current CPC from AAPC, or CCS from AHIMA
- Must maintain certification via CEU requirements from AAPC or AHIMA.
- Must maintain membership to your accrediting body to maintain your certification.
- Must have at least 1.5-2 years recent experience of Anesthesia CPT , ED/HM.
- Utilization of Anesthesia Crosswalk, Modifiers for CCI edits, LCD/NCD edits, and RVU order.
- Coding across multiple specialties including Surgery.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Assist with denial management and client emails.
- Education in medical terminology and anatomy/physiology.
- Strong self-motivational skills.
- Maintains quality and productivity.
- Team goal oriented/driven personality.
- Strives to attain increase coding specialty knowledge.
- Good computer software skills.
- Practice Management software and EMR software.
- Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Outlook.
- Utilization of Codify, 3M, and Cerner, Citrix Coding programs.
- Must be able to code without electronic programs i.e. Coding Books.
